Costs & Aid for Non-Randolph Students

  • How to Apply for One or Both Semesters of the 2013-2014 Academic Year

  • Complete the 2013–2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Renewal FAFSA after January 1, but before March 1. Be sure to include the Randolph College Code Number—003734.
  • Forward a signed copy of your 20112 federal income tax return and your parents' 2012income tax return to us.
  • After you have been accepted for admission, we will forward a consortium agreement to you. The financial aid director at your "home" school must sign the form and return it to us, enabling Randolph College to process your application for aid.

Sources of Financial Aid

  • Randolph College Grant — a non-repayable combination of academic and need-based grants up to a maximum of $17,000 for a full academic year ($8,500 per semester). You must file a FAFSA to be considered for a grant.
  • Federal Pell Grant — provides up to a maximum of $5,550 (estimated).
  • Student and parent educational loan programs — Randolph College participates in several loan/payment programs. We will provide additional information to you in December.
  • For Virginia Residents - Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant. If you are currently enrolled at a private college in Virginia and you receive this grant, you may be eligible to receive the grant to attend the Randolph College Program in Reading. The grant is estimated to be $2,800 for the academic year, $1400 for a semester; however, the final amount depends on the total amount appropriated by the General Assembly and the number of students enrolled.
  • Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship -
    Sponsored by the US Department of State. To be eligible, students must be the recipients of a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application. See www.iie.org/gilman for details.  Application deadlines are usually in early October for students going abroad in the spring,  early March for students going abroad in the fall semester or for the full academic year.

  • Rotary International Scholarships - deadline could be as early as March of the calendar year preceding the year abroad. See www.rotary.org for details.

How to Apply for Spring, 2013

  • The information above still applies, but the maximum amounts of the various awards are as follows: Randolph College Grant - $8,497; Pell Grant - $2,775 ; Virginia TAG grant - $1,400.

  • Submit the 2012-2013 FAFSA to Randolph College and 2011 tax returns.
