Gender Studies

At Randolph College, women are leaders, volunteers, doers—an ideal environment from which to learn to think about the nature of women in social, historical, and cultural contexts. The Women's Studies program provides students the opportunity to draw upon disciplines from across the liberal arts curriculum and to study the impact of gender in societies and cultures around the globe.

One purpose of a liberal arts education is to teach students to think about their place in society using perspectives from the social sciences, the humanities, and the sciences. The courses in this program focus on the importance of gender in society and culture and draw upon the insights and methodologies of a wide range of academic disciplines.
