What state-of-the-art facility housed in the Martin Science Building provides a place for you to get tutoring, grab some computer time, do research, and/or hit the books in an atmosphere conducive to raising your GPA?
It's The Ethyl Science and Mathematics Resource Center, where all these services are free for the asking.
Do you need help with math or science? Get help from a trained and certified tutor or try to find the answers yourself using our videos, texts, and journals. Try a 'walk-in' session or schedule a weekly appointment for any math or science course. Check the tutoring Web site to find the service which best fits your needs. The tutoring area offers study desks as well as whiteboards, audio/visual equipment, and a selection of tapes and discs of scientific and mathematical interest.
Need to hone your technological edge? Our computer lab offers the latest personal computers, a networked laser printer, and scanner. With connections to the Lipscomb Library and the Internet, a variety of information resources are easily available. In addition, math- and science-related software programs such as Derive, Mathematica, Hyperchem, Sigmaplot, and Chemdraw are available.
Need some quiet time? The library study area offers you access to current journals, reference materials, and books on various scientific topics and a quiet place to use them.
Funded by the Ethyl Corporation, the Center is staffed by a director who assists students and faculty with the software and hardware being used in the Martin Science Building as well as coordinating and supervising the math and science tutoring program.
